Tell us about your show. It’s a whole music festival set in an hour. It is me and Daniel Tobias, with cameos from Ella Hooper, Broden Kelly (Aunty Donna), Ben Russell, Jess Perkins and Triple R Lime Champions Damien Lawlor, Kirsten Law and Eva Johansen.
How did the idea for your show come about? I’ve had the idea for this show since 2011 but wasn’t sure how to manage it on my own, so it fit the vision I had. Then at MICF last year I watched Daniel Tobias perform and was like, “He’s so great, he’d be perfect to perform some of the songs.”
What inspires you about MICF? I love that the MICF gives me a deadline to write to. Comedy is a great artform, in that if the show isn’t ready by the time of the first show, there is no hiding the performer can do. It’s either funny or it isn’t and the feedback is instantaneous.
What’s a fun fact about the show? There is a song in the show about two DJs who wear helmets – the costume took me five days to make and includes 1800 small mirror tiles. But it was totally worth it.
Can you describe your show in three words? No, I can’t.
