Ben McGill has performed classic jazz standards from Count Basie through to the Rat Pack and many in between. He has also put his own spin on music from the James Bond films and Sting, although he is best known for the songs of Frank Sinatra and others of the era.
JMQ first became aware of Ben many years ago through another singer, then our regular pianist Michael suggested him again recently, and we thought it was timely to introduce him to our JMQ audience on July 31st 2025 at Golden Gate Hotel, South Melbourne, with guest Richard Pavlidis on saxophone.
With Ben,you're likely to hear classics such as All Of Me, I’ve Got A Crush On You, Angel Eyes, Fly Me To The Moon, Come Fly With Me, I've Got You Under My Skin and It Was A Very Good Year. Settle in with your meals and drinks as McGill’s lush vocals evoke a bygone era supported by some of Melbourne's top jazz musicians, including David Hicks (drums), Kim May (d.bass), Michael Harding (piano) & John Montesante (Horns)
Doors and dinner from 6.30pm and Live Jazz between 7pm and 9.30pm. Prebookings now open on: www.trybooking.com/COBWU
