Organised by the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, Treaty Day Out is designed to raise awareness of the journey towards treaty in Victoria and to celebrate the final day of voting in the upcoming Assembly Elections.
“What a line up! From established musical heroes to cutting-edge new talent, the day will have something for everyone,” said Co-Chair of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, and proud Nira illim bulluk man of the Taungurung nation, Marcus Stewart. “We’re really excited to be bringing Treaty Day Out to Naarm for the first time and to celebrate our culture and music with everyone.”
Headlining the Naarm concert will be Jessica Mauboy, an international superstar born and raised in Garramilla/Darwin. Thelma Plum, a Gamilaraay woman and musician, will also perform fan favourites from her ARIA-nominated and critically acclaimed album Better in Blak.
Dan Sultan, the multi-award-winning artist, is back and guaranteed to deliver a powerful set under the big top in Naarm. Also returning for another year is the iconic band Yothu Yindi who created an anthem for the movement and took the Treaty message from the Northern Territory to the world.
Dynamic First Nations duo, MARLON X RULLA, are back again to showcase their high-energy sound that perfectly blends soul and hip-hop music. In partnership with triple j, Treaty Day Out is thrilled to include space in this year’s lineup for the winner of the triple j’s Unearthed competition.
