The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra is set to host the highly anticipated Australian debut of Japanese soprano Yukie Sato in their upcoming concert series, Handel's House.
Known for her technical brilliance, musicality, and charismatic stage presence, Sato will grace the stage with a selection of Handel’s most beloved arias. The concerts will take place at Sydney’s City Recital Hall from 30 August – 7 September, Brisbane’s Queensland Performing Arts Centre on 10 September, and the Melbourne Recital Centre from 12 – 15 September.
Sato’s performance will be a rare opportunity for Australian audiences to experience her dramatic interpretation of Handel’s arias, which explore themes of love, angst, and revenge. Highlights include Ombre pallide and Tornami a vagheggiar from the much-loved Alcina, a tale of enchantment and betrayal that captivated English audiences when it premiered in 1735.
