Following its 2023 sell-out debut at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Kew Court House is delighted to present Jackie Bornstein’s Screen Song.
Together with her exceptional band of rising and esteemed jazz artists, Jackie Bornstein shares her favourite songs from iconic television and movie soundtracks.
Featuring the rich vocals of Jackie Bornstein, flute player and rising star in the Australian jazz scene Yael Zamir, virtuosic guitarist Nathan Slater, exciting guitarist James Sherlock and bassist Philip Rex, one of Australia’s finest jazz musicians.

Singing in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Yiddish and Portuguese, Jackie will perform a mix of swing, bossa nova, blues and deeply moving songs drawn from classic films and acclaimed tv series including Six Feet Under, The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, Schindler’s List, the Marvellous Mrs Maisel, Dr Dolittle, Disney’s animation Luca and Wong Kar-Wai’s masterpiece, In the Mood for Love.
From the swinging “It’s a Good Day” to the nostalgic “La Mer” and the haunting Oyfn Pripetshik, the program features diverse composers including Peggy Lee, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Maria Grever, Keren Ann, Luiz Bonfá, Bruno De Filippi, Charles Trenet and more.
