J Balvin announces headlining dates in Sydney and Melbourne

The reggaeton icon will be playing two more cities when he touches down by for Splendour this July.

Hailing from Medellín, Colombia, J Balvin has had a dazzling rise to stardom. He went from walking dogs in Staten Island on a quest to learn English to filling his shelves with music awards and becoming one of the Top 10 most streamed artists in the world.

When he’s in town for Splendour in the Grass this winter, he’ll be making two extra stopovers in Sydney and Melbourne.

The reggaeton artist is known for breaking boundaries and winning the hearts of fans across the globe. In 2019, he became the first Latin artist to headline Lollapalooza, giving the performance of a life time to thousands of adoring onlookers.

Throughout his enduring career, he has teamed up with industry icons including Cardi B, Ed Sheeran, Justin Beiber and Skrillex to release chart-topping sensations including I Like It and Mi Gente.

As well as being a talented singer, songwriter and producer, Balvin is also dedicated to charity work and has recently released OYE, a bilingual mental health and wellness app in both English and Spanish. He has also partnered with beer company Miller Light and Accion Opportunity Fund to help support 50 Latino business owners.

Lately, the artist has been taking a step back to spend time with his one-year-old son, Rio. He’ll be fully recharged for a set of three wild shows when he comes to Australia this July.

Tickets to both of the J Balvin sideshows are set to go on sale on Monday May 8 at 12pm with a presale option opening on Thursday May 4.
