The Prompted Peculiar International AI Prize returns for its second year at the Ballarat International Foto Biennale.

This global competition dives into AI-generated imagery. Artists worldwide use artificial intelligence as their creative tool, crafting visual masterpieces through prompting.

This exhibition belongs to the broader Ballarat International Foto Biennale, which celebrates its 11th anniversary this year.

The Prompted Peculiar International AI Prize sparks conversations about authorship. It questions authenticity in the digital age.  This prize tackles big questions about what makes an artist.

Promptography gained attention when Boris Eldagsen declined a major award. He stated his AI-generated image wasn’t photography. This moment highlighted ongoing debates. Where does traditional art end? Where does AI-assisted creation begin?

This competition offers serious rewards for boundary-pushing creators. The overall winner receives $2000 from expert judges. The People’s Choice Award winner takes home $1000. Curated finalist works will be displayed throughout the festival. Visitors cast votes for their favourite pieces.

Ballarat International Foto Biennale activates the city every two years. The organisation delivers world-class photographic arts festivals and showcases the AI-generated work alongside traditional photography.
