The latest wave of rumours have also been encouraged by Herald Sun reporting that industry chatter points to AC/DC playing Australian shows in late November or early December, though nothing official has surfaced yet.
When did AC/DC last play in Australia?
The tour would mark AC/DC’s first Aussie shows since 2015’s Rock or Bust tour.
For that run, Stevie Young was on rhythm guitar in place of the late Malcolm Young, and saw Phil Rudd briefly return to drums before legal issues forced another lineup change.
The last time we paid attention to some big rumours rolling around, was in 2020 when a comeback was on the cards, after the band reunited with former members Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd.
Who will be singing for the tour?
Currently, the live band includes Brian Johnson back on vocals, Angus Young in stellar starform, Stevie Young on rhythm, Chris Chaney on bass, and Matt Laug handling drums. Phil Rudd remains a question, with fans hoping he might return for a home leg, but it’s still possible we’ll continue to see Matt Laug in the seat.
AC/DC Australian tour rumours have been circulating since early 2025, when Herald Sun first tipped a potential stadium run to cap off the year.
