Iron & Wine adds three new shows to his Australian and New Zealand tour

Indie folk favourite Sam Beam is expanding his Australian visit with three extra performances next year.

Iron & Wine has locked in additional shows across New Zealand and Tasmania for his upcoming tour. The singer-songwriter will now perform in Auckland and Wellington, plus a newly added Hobart date, joining his previously announced Australian capital city shows and festival appearances in February and March 2026.

Sam Beam has been a fixture of the indie folk scene for more than a decade, building a catalogue that spans seven studio albums and countless collaborations. His sound sits somewhere between whispered intimacy and sweeping arrangements, with each release showcasing his ability to shift between stripped-back acoustic moments and fuller production. Iron & Wine is touring off the back of his 2024 album Light Verse and recent EP Making Good Time, which he created with Ben Bridwell from Band of Horses.

These shows will see Beam performing solo, pulling from his extensive back catalogue including material from Light Verse, his collaborations with Calexico and I’m With Her, and some of his more cinematic work. The tour follows a massive US run alongside I’m With Her and Band of Horses.

The New Zealand and Hobart shows have their own ticketing schedule. Presales run from 2pm on 21 October until 1pm on 22 October, with general tickets going on sale at 2pm on 22 October. Support acts for all dates are yet to be announced.

From his early recordings like The Creek Drank the Cradle through to albums like The Shepherd’s Dog, Kiss Each Other Clean and Beast Epic, Beam has maintained a consistent approach to songwriting that blends atmospheric production with storytelling. His work has appeared everywhere from indie folk compilations to film soundtracks, cementing his place as one of the genre’s most recognisable voices.
