Kicking off in November, the tour will hit big cities and regional towns across Australia's east coast.

In celebration of the release of his sophomore album, Heywood singer-songwriter David M Western has announced a nine-date tour. He’ll be starting out in Sydney before making his way across the country with a launch show at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on November 11.

Set to be released on October 20, On, On & On details the ever-changing landscape of life, from the lows of heartbreak, loneliness and loss to the highs of friendship and finding joy in the little things.

Recorded almost entirely live in Pakenham with producer Alex O’Gorman, the album has a raw, organic feel to it. Western says wrote all of the songs in a creative flurry as Melbourne was coming out of lockdown, inspired by live music and the desire to be out among the people, dancing and having fun again.

“I think it’s like a coming-of-age story. That’s why I called it On, On & On, because these things will continue to happen to all of us as we keep growing and living our lives,” he says.

“We’re going to feel heartbreak again, we’re going to make new friends, we’re going to have all of these amazing new experiences and I think there [are] songs on this album that accompany all of those times. It’s a bit of a celebration. It’s not a how-to guide, it’s not a self-help thing, and it’s not a ‘I’ve been hard done by’, it’s not a ‘Woe is me’, it’s just an account of things that happen to us.”

He’ll be bringing a full band to all the dates on tour except Brisbane. Tickets are on sale now.
