From its mythical discovery in 15th century Yemen to the Heritage Listed coffee house culture of Viena, right up to Melbourne’s love affair with the caffeinated drink – coffee has long been intertwined with culture. The Immigration Museum will delve into the ceremonies, social issues, cup readings and daily rituals the beverage has inspired.
Featuring samples from Brazilian, Ethiopian, Vietnamese, Finnish and Turkish communities, the day will be capped off with performances from Navzat Eser and Ethio-jazz seven piece The Lalibelas.
