Illuminati Hotties will be heading over to support Alex Lahey on her The Answer Is Always Yes tour.
“I love to keep a list of dumb band names in my phone notes app and one finally stuck… for better or for worse!” says Sarah Tudzin, the artist behind the Los Angeles pop punk project Illuminati Hotties.
But don’t let the goofy name lead you astray. Despite her playful style, tongue-in-cheek lyrics and baby-sweet voice, Tudzin is a musician with some serious chops.

The label imprint owner, singer, songwriter, producer, engineer and multi-instrumentalist has been taking a step away from her personal work to help co-produce the new Boygenuis album, as well as the work of Dim Wizard and Jeff Rosenstock, Eliza McLamb and The Armed.
“Anytime I’m in the studio with an artist, I try to sink myself completely into their world. Naturally, the creative energy of everyone in the studio gets absorbed into my process, perhaps even subconsciously and it sneaks its way out in ways that I sometimes don’t even catch until I hear the final masters back of my own songs!”
With so many projects on the go, Tudzin turns to the humble list to help her manage her time. “I am a fiend for to-do lists. Once it’s written on the list, it’s gotta get done! Other than that I don’t really have a system of execution, I just keep the burners hot and keep the creativity coming!”
After being stuck in the booth for months, it makes sense that her latest single, Truck, is an infectious sing-along that dreams of the open road. It’s the first original work she’s released in over a year and the first taste of the follow-up to 2021’s critically acclaimed Let Me Do One More.
“Singing ‘Heaven is a truck’ / The 710 is slammed but you don’t give a fuck / Doggy in the cab / Cruising on a breeze ’til she says enough is enough,” she nods to Pavement’s 1994 track.
Since July, Tudzin has been on the road herself. She spent the American summer touring alongside Boygenuis and Carly Rae Jepsen and is about to head down under in support of Melbourne’s own alt-rock force Alex Lahey.
“Touring is the best,” says Tudzin, “Every day is different and every show is a blessing. I love seeing people in the crowd become invested in the band in real-time when we’re playing in front of crowds that haven’t heard of us before.”
