In an Australian-first, Collins Street's swanky new Italian marketplace Il Mercato Centrale will transform into a thumping two-level underground rave this Anzac Day eve.

Eat The Beat collective is taking over Il Mercato Centrale for a one-night-only electronic explosion, featuring international heavyweights and local legends across two massive stages.

The venue’s raw concrete pillars and multi-level structure will morph into a proper underground affair with cutting-edge production and light shows in a space never before used for parties.

Rave In The Market

  • Date: Thursday 24 April
  • Venue: Il Mercato Centrale, 546 Collins Street Melbourne
  • Lineup: Oscar L (Spain), Paris (Aus), John Course (Aus), Jnett (Aus), Sunshine

Headlining the night is Madrid techno powerhouse Oscar L, who’s earned massive support from industry giants like Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin and Nicole Moudaber. His track Monster Tube became one of the biggest anthems on Truesoul Records, cementing his reputation for delivering driving, high-energy techno.

The main stage will also feature Australian melodic techno innovator Made in Paris, whose hypnotic productions have been championed by the likes of Maceo Plex and Joseph Capriati. She’ll be joined by locals Artheesh and the back-to-back pairing of Esteban with Mateo Blanco. Meanwhile, the Market Stage showcases three pillars of Melbourne’s dance music community.

John Course, co-founder of Vicious Recordings and the label behind Madison Avenue, brings over 15 years of scene-shaping expertise. Joining him is club scene pioneer JNETT, whose ability to blend deep house, techno, funk and soul has made her a fixture warming up for legends like Frankie Knuckles and Theo Parrish.

Rounding out the Market Stage headliners is Sunshine, known for her legendary Saturday morning sets at Revolver and appearances alongside Carl Cox and LCD Soundsystem.

The night runs from 8pm to 4am, with doors opening at 7:30pm. Local support comes from Sarah Armstrong and the back-to-back set from Matteo Freyrie and Etwas.

This marks another coup for Eat The Beat, which started in 2017 and quickly established itself through partnerships with global brands like Elrow, Circoloco and Resistance, while hosting international talent including Loco Dice, Paco Osuna and Hot Since 82.

Tickets from $29 via Eventbrite.
