The Hunnas took Best Australian Contemporary Concert for their 12 headlining shows this year, ten for Roundhouse Entertainment’s A Day On The Green winery series, and theatre shows produced by Frontier Touring. They also opened for Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s tour.
The powerhouse band were up against Tame Impala, Flume and a team up by The Presets with the Australian Chamber Orchestra at Sydney Opera House,
Springsteen & The E-Street Band’s 11 dates over February and March, also through Frontier Touring, saw them win over Pink, Beyonce and Eddie Vedder for Best International Contemporary Concert.
Best Contemporary Music Festival went to Bluesfest Byron Bay for its second successive win and fourth win overall. Its 25th anniversary in April to one of the best festival bills seen in this country was attended by over 100,000. Also nominated in this category were Laneway, Vivid Live and last year’s Falls Music & Arts.
