The Push is looking for young rappers, singers, beatboxers and beatmakers to take part in an exciting new project titled PushIt! Cyphers. Inspired by New York’s legendary cyphers, the project will host a series of live rap cyphers throughout the City of Moreland in February and March. Supported by YouthWorx and Amped Up Productions, aspiring emcees are encouraged to register and show the Melbourne hip hop music scene their rap freestyle skills. For the finale in Coburg, competitors will be joined by some of the most promising new voices in hip hop including Fresh Violet, Yung Philly, Muma, Doesa, Emerald, Boy Graduate, and Sadiva. Adelaide rapper K21 has released his long-awaited debut studio album, Any Given D-Day. The album was developed across Chicago and Australia and features Grammy award-winning emcee Rhymefest and Australian hip hop kings Hilltop Hoods, Funkoars and Remi. Years in the making, the 12-track album was released through Golden Era Records,and to celebrate K21 has announced a national tour. Hip hop duo So.Crates are celebrating the launch of their Static Methods LP Vinyl re-issue will an all-ages performance at Northside Records alongside Pataphysics. Since their festival debut back in 2016 at Strawberry Fields, the rap group has made a mark on the music industry supporting the likes of Black Milk, Brother Ali, Cool Out Sun and other industry icons.
