Called ‘Mooo!’, the track is exactly what you’d expect – it navigates the topics of hamburgers, milkshakes and well, being a cow. The American rapper, who describes her music as “trappy-go-lucky”, released a snippet of the project and accompanying low-quality video on Twitter last week, recorded using a bedsheet as a green screen. After filling the music video with cow GIFs and farmer-related costumes, all while chomping on a burger, fans prompted the artist to post the full project online. However, the artist behind the udder-ly hilarious video, Amala Zandile Dlamini, is a seriously established artist with a full album to her name, aside from her most recent fame. Dlamini has been releasing music since she was 16 years old, with tracks ‘So High’ and ‘No Police’, from her EP Purrr! going viral in 2014. After releasing her album, Amala, in March this year, Doja Cat purchased the cow costume for her upcoming tour.
Portland rapper Aminé is back with a new body of work, titled OnePointFive. Best known for his 2016 hit, ‘Caroline’, the artist has stressed that he didn’t want his latest project labelled as anything, therefore calling OnePointFive an EP/LP/Mixtape/Album. The 13-tracker features guest spots from Gunna, G Herbo and Rico Nasty. Since releasing his debut studio album, titled Good For You, in 2017, Aminé’s work has dispersed through a number of singles and features, most notably his contribution to Rejjie Snow’s single, ‘Egyptian Luvr’, in early 2018. With Anime’s most popular track, ‘Caroline’, making reference to ‘a Tarantino movie’, the American artist has since listed Quentin Tarantino as his favourite director, revealing his love and admiration for the director’s mind that creates the art. Aminé has also stated in interviews that he’d like to branch out into directing film and fashion, leaving fans eagerly wondering what creative projects the artist will sink his teeth into next.
Representing Sydney’s South West, rapper B Wise is heading on a national tour following the release of his upcoming full-length album, Area Famous, set for release this September. He’ll be headlining shows across the country in October and November, after spending the last few years as a national support for international artists like Schoolboy Q, Vince Staples, and G-Eazy. Bouncing between rural New South Wales and the suburbs, it was in Sydney that B Wise’s love of music transformed from a side hobby into a full-time labour of love.
