High Score 2025 has revealed its complete two-day program bringing together the sound designers, composers and audio professionals behind Australia’s gaming industry.
The Victorian government initiative returns to ACMI as part of Melbourne International Games Week with keynotes, panels and interactive sessions exploring both the creative and business sides of game audio.

High Score 2025 features studios behind Australian Game Developer Awards 2025 finalist games including The Drifter from Powerhoof, Copycat by Spoonful of Wonder, and titles from PlaySide Studios.
Host Angharad Rad Yeo guides attendees through presentations covering everything from orchestral game scores to FMOD technical deep dives and rapid-fire industry advice.
Program highlights include a Demo Derby music challenge where composers create short demos for upcoming games and receive live feedback from developers. The PlaySide Studios audio team takes attendees behind the scenes of their in-house department, while a panel explores how game scores come to life through orchestras featuring composer Jessica Wells and Orchestra Victoria’s Elise Lerpiniere.
Cross-disciplinary collaboration gets the spotlight with developers and musicians discussing how teams work together to bring sound to life.
Technical sessions dive into FMOD audio systems behind games like Cozy Caravan and Call of the Golden Valley, while business-focused panels cover legal structures, licensing, cashflow and the Digital Games Tax Offset.
The opening masterclass features Pete Ward from MachineGames breaking down the immersive audio of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, with closing keynote speaker Michael Allen reflecting on his award-winning scores for Solium Infernum and The Forgotten City.
