Heaven Is A Plate On Earth

Eating dinner with Neil Prentice a couple of weeks back really showcased this philosophy in a wonderful way, with many a delicious biodynamic drop to accompany. Talking about biodynamic wines – and I believe that means that they are made in a hand-grown, moon-farming, environmentally-conscious alchemical way – I found some more of them in a little nook in South Yarra recently, at Grove And Vine Providore which is up against the train line on Yarra Street. They’ve got all kinds of delights from local producers there, too, and the biodynamic wines are often available for tasting.

They’re at shop 3, 9 Yarra St and they’re open 11am-8pm.

But enough of that! There are too many good new restaurants opening that I have to visit! Personally, I really want to visit Chris Lucas’ Chin Chin, as I’ve been following their construction and planning on the internets for a while now. Their website doesn’t give much away but I’m pretty much salivating about it anyway.

Or how about a nice mulled wine? Lou Pardi’s article had me pretty much ready to leave work on deadline and go home and start making me some hot winey goodness.

But the final note is this: it is cold, and the coffee is hot. We’re going to head back down to Piccolo on High St, Prahran, mainly because they have put a big sign out the front saying how great we are, and really, what more do you need than that? Piccolo, if you’re reading… I’ll have a cappuccino with one sugar, and I’ll be in shortly.
