Come celebrate ‘Hasta Pronto,’ a month full of live latin music every Thursday and Sunday at Bodriggy this September.
This Sunday we welcome the return of Sorbo Amplio.
Sorbo Amplio are a 10-piece powerhouse bringing the sounds of nueva cumbia chilena to Australia. Made up of musicians from Chile, Colombia and Australia, the band blends traditional Latin American rhythms with rock, pop and global grooves, creating a high-energy live show that’s impossible not to dance to.
Since forming, Sorbo Amplio have performed at festivals including Leaps and Bounds, Johnston Street Festival, La Fiesta Canberra, and the Adelaide Latin Festival. With lyrics drawn from the migrant experience and music that unites both Latino and non-Latino audiences, they deliver a performance that is as heartfelt as it is electrifying.
Expect driving percussion, soaring brass, rich harmonies and a contagious energy that will leave you wanting more. Sorbo Amplio aren’t just a band, they’re a fiesta.
Sorbo Amplio translates to “wide sip” which like many of the songs they play, will be sure to leave you thirsty for more.
