Hard techno heads, Axlmore and Burjoe are coming to the Stamina vaults

Stamina
words by staff writer

Stamina Melbourne is keeping it hard and fast with two of Melbourne’s own stepping into the Banana Alley Vaults this week.

Stamina Melbourne is bringing two local heavy hitters to its weekly programme this Saturday night.

Axlmore and Burjoe step up as headliners at Stamina Melbourne this week, two artists whose careers have long since outgrown any local circuit. Axlmore has built a serious international resume: a HÖR Berlin set, a slot at Aura Music Festival, interstate runs through Sydney, a Beyond The Valley appearance, and a late-night set at Revolver sit comfortably alongside a long-running career behind the scenes in the industry. A Croatia appearance rounds out a global footprint that makes this Melbourne date well worth marking in the calendar.

Burjoe arrives off the back of some significant momentum. An upcoming billing at Teletech in April, a release through Berlin’s Polyamor label, and support from respected European names like Somewhen and Cloudy all signal an artist hitting their stride internationally. Closer to home, a Dreamstate appearance and a forthcoming Sutra Sunrise headline show there’s just as much heat domestically.

Supporting the night are RØSAH, Lust, and HAVØC, covering the heavier and faster ends of the hard techno and hard bounce spectrum across the evening.

Stamina runs every Saturday night out of the historic Banana Alley Vaults, a century-old tunnel system sitting beneath Flinders Street that’s been reimagined as Melbourne’s industrial hub for hard techno, hard bounce, and the harder edges of the 4/4 spectrum.

Three rooms and bars operate across the space, with festival-grade NEXO sound systems, three kilometres of neon lighting, and production that holds its own against international venues. Capacity runs north of a thousand, and there’s no ceiling on BPMs. Built by the scene, for the scene.

Stamina is where Melbourne’s harder underground finds its home each week.
