Halloween Q&A: Spooktober Asylum

spooktober2.jpg

You guys have created an Asylum in the Ormond Town Hall with an incredibly dark backstory. Tell us about the spirit that still haunts the Asylum, Elizabeth Donaldson.

Elizabeth Donaldson’s troubled spirit has haunted the Asylum ever since her gruesome and mysterious death. It was thought that the cause of her death was suicide, but historical evidence suggests that she may’ve been murdered by a fellow patient. Her vengeful spirit haunts the Asylum in frightening ways – there is no way of knowing what she capable of.

The tour of the asylum is not for the faint-hearted. What will it entail?

This walk through the haunted Asylum is for those who enjoy extreme scares. Attendees can expect to be admitted to the Asylum before walking through the dark halls to witness the horrors of the inmates and the organisation’s medical staff.

The Village Bar, which is adjacent to the asylum, will be celebrating in psycho-Halloween style. What are they offering up on the night?

On Saturday October 31 The Village Bar will be hosting a graveyard party for Halloweeners and offering drink specials such as the Witchy Cauldron and the Monkey Brains shot.

Can you give us a foreboding teaser of the perils that await attendees?

Elizabeth Donaldson, 14, was abandoned at The Asylum by her father after her mother died in 1899. She was then locked permanently in the facility’s bell tower. After the closure of The Asylum in 1910, Elizabeth Donaldson’s deceased body was found alone on the tower floor. Elizabeth’s ghost still haunts the halls of the Asylum…what she is capable of? How will she taunt her fellow patients? When will she rest?

Spooktober Asylum runs from Thursday October 29 to Saturday October 31.
