Groove Tunes: The Corner Hotel’s micro-festival with macro heart led by Dean Brady, Velvet Bloom

Words by staff writer

Groove Tunes returns to The Corner Hotel on 29 November for its fourth year.

The fully accessible micro-festival has announced Dean Brady, Velvet Bloom, Dani Enli and Bel Kil for its 2025 lineup. Groove Tunes remains one of the few live music events in Australia designed from the ground up with accessibility at its core, offering patron support services, Auslan interpretation, haptic vests, sensory quiet spaces and companion ticketing.

Dean Brady headlines the 2025 edition, bringing his Motown-influenced r&b ahead of his mixtape Dean’s Home dropping on 31 October. Descended from the Gugu Yalanji and Birrigubba people, Brady’s powerhouse vocals and groove-soaked sound have established him as one of the country’s rising talents.

Melbourne collective Velvet Bloom join the bill with their blend of soul, pop, funk and indie. Fronted by Maddy Herbert, the band released their self-titled debut album in 2025 and are known for their immersive live performances.

Perth’s Dani Enli brings her self-produced fusion of Jersey Club, r&b and trap, while multi-instrumentalist Bel Kil rounds out the lineup with shimmering indie-pop.

Founded by Dina Bassile through her business Tibi Access, Groove Tunes emerged from firsthand experience of accessibility gaps in the Australian music scene. Bassile has since consulted on patron accessibility for Taylor Swift’s Australian tour and introduced Auslan interpreters to St Kilda Fest for the first time in the festival’s 43-year history.
