Greg Sestero will tour Melbourne, Sydney and Perth in celebration of James Franco’s film The Disaster Artist. Based on Sestero and Tom Bissell’s memoir on the making of the 2003 cult film The Room, The Disaster Artist has received great reviews from critics. Premiering at Cinema Nova on Tuesday November 21, The Disaster Artist’s first week of screenings will include Q&A events.

Sestero has visited Cinema Nova for Q&A events in the past. In 2014, whilst launching his book The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside the Room, The Greatest Bad Movie Ever Written, which was co-written with Tom Bissell, Sestero conducted Q&A sessions at sold-out screenings.

The Disaster Artist, directed by James Franco, depicts the bittersweet true-story of aspiring filmmaker and infamous Hollywood outsider Tommy Wiseau, into a festivity of friendship, artistic expression, and dreams pursued against the odds. It reminds us that there are multiple ways to become a legend.

The Disaster Artist stars Dave Franco (Neighbours, Now You See Me) as Greg Sestero and James Franco (127 Hours, The Deuce) as Tommy Wiseau, plus Seth Rogen (Neighbours), Alison Brie (Mad Men), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) and Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom, Silver Linings Playbook).

Regular screenings start at Cinema Nova on Thursday November 30 before it’s national release on Thursday December 7.
