Gothic riffs, electronic textures and cinematic production collide when Silver Fang launch their new EP Death or Devotion on 31 January.
Silver Fang have quickly established themselves as one of Australia’s most distinctive heavy acts. The band fuses gothic atmosphere with metalcore aggression, creating a sound that stands apart from the pack. Their approach has caught the attention of industry heavyweights, with Triple J’s Dave Ruby Howe championing them as one of the country’s most promising heavy bands.
The group further cemented their reputation as the only Australian act to perform at Monolith Festival last November, playing alongside international heavyweights.

The Death or Devotion EP takes listeners through themes of anguish, obsession and self-destruction. Layered with cinematic synthesisers, crushing guitars and haunting vocals, the record moves between the sleepless torment of Spires of Hate and the intense rush of Bloodlust. It’s a body of work that finds catharsis amid the chaos, pushing the band’s sonic palette into new territory while maintaining the visceral impact that’s become their signature.
Support for the night comes from three acts representing different corners of the heavy music spectrum. Aurateque bring their fusion of nu-punk and alternative metal, combining aggressive vocals with genre-bending instrumentation. Liar deliver a blend of hardcore and raw intensity that’s built them a dedicated following on the local circuit. Opening the night, Indigo Blaze bring their high-energy, rap-infused nu-metal to get the room moving from the first note.
The show takes place at Bergy Bandroom in Brunswick, with doors opening at 7pm. Tickets are available now for $22.99. It’s an 18-plus event, making it a perfect excuse to gather the crew for a loud night out.
