Supporting the headline acts, Dope Lemon and The Jungle Giants, are dancefloor favourites Young Franco and Sneaky Sound System, nostalgic hitmakers Thirsty Merc and Art vs Science, plus DICE, Rum Jungle, Kim Churchill, Playlunch, Letters To Lions, Adam Newling, Kira Puru, Dizzy Days and Joel Leggett. More than 20 emerging and established acts round out the bill, including エミエミ (emi emi), Lasca Dry, Baby Lemur and JAMESLANE.
Co-director Charlotte Grey emphasises the festival’s all-ages approach, which means everyone from your nan to your niece can get down together. City Of Burnie Brass Band kicks things off, while Ulverstone’s Slipstream Circus adds some serious performance art flair. It’s all about keeping those community vibes strong while making sure no one feels left out.
When you’re not catching bands or gazing at Dope Lemon, there’s plenty to keep you busy. Roaming Magic with Gareth the Magician, Mindful Wild Steps, Face Painting, Bella the Bookworm, Mini Rhythms and Inkcarts Pop-Up Tattoo Studio are all part of the mix. If needles aren’t your thing, henna tattoos and collaborative art projects offer a gentler alternative.
Good Gumnuts keeps things green with Recycle Rewards, sending all drink container refunds straight to City Mission. Plus, they’ve teamed up with Burnie Show for a Battle of the Bands comp where high school and college students can fight it out for a main-stage spot.
Back at Burnie’s Agriplex at Romaine for year two, the festival is set to give the local economy a decent boost. Hotels, cafes and bars are all gearing up for the influx, making it a win for the whole region beyond those three days in March. Get keen to catch Dope Lemon, The Jungle Giants, Sneaky Sound System, and so much more next March!
