Whether you’re buying for a big beer fan this Christmas or just a person who loves showing off their local pride, Mountain Goat’s new line of merch is an easy choice.
Richmond-based brewery is a Melbourne staple, offering easy drinking, lip smacking brews that can be found at just about any self-respecting local watering hole. With the summer fast approaching, Mountain Goat have teamed up with illustrator Amy Jean to create a limited-edition merch collection.
Punters may recognise Amy’s designs from countless album covers, T-shirts and gig posters found around town. She took inspiration for the seven-piece Mountain Goat merch collection from a journey through the archives, with the brewery’s early bottle labels from the early 2000s and ’90s skatewear forming the heart of the design brief. From there, Amy Jean brought to life the Mountain Goat untamed spirit with original illustrations and a bold colour palette.
There is a tee, stubby holders and a heavyweight, reinforced tote big enough to fit a six-pack or two in, but our favourite piece has to be the shorts. Once you’ve got a pair of shorts with a bright orange goat sitting on a keg printed on them, you’ll wonder how you ever wore anything else. Made from pure cotton, they have a classic fit, mesh-lined pockets and an elastic waistband for comfortable, casual wear.
In addition to the brand new designs, Mountain Goat continues to sell their classic T-shirts and sweaters, a line of casual basics that are perfect for everyday wear.
If you’re lucky enough to live near the Richmond brewery or Newtown brewpub, you can also pick up a venue-exclusive frisbee. Get in quick though, these won’t be around for long!
