This world-first fusion is a surprisingly delightful summer sipper.
Caviar and potato chips, ice cream and fries, pineapple on pizza… Gin and beer? Sometimes, the most unexpected combinations can be the most exciting. Someone just has to be brave enough to be the first to try it out.
Change Up Beer Co isn’t afraid to do just that. The local company has just launched a never-before-seen gin and beer mixed drink set to take Victoria by storm. Effervescent, refreshing and light, the G&B is the kind of drink that gets people talking.

It’s not just a new beer – it’s a new style for a lighter drink! What’s the G&B difference? The beer itself has all of beer’s refreshment, but without the other ‘beery’ bits. There’s no bitter taste or that unmistakable beer smell.
By adding some delicious gin, the G&B has become a beer transformed. The gin’s touch of sweetness enlivens the beer so that this new mixed drink dances on your tongue.
It’s made for beer drinkers who want something a little less heavy, cider drinkers who want to ditch the over-the-top sweetness, wine drinkers who are looking for a fresh alternative and seltzer or gin and tonic drinkers who want a more interesting drinking experience. It’s also gluten-free and low sugar, which means none of that beer bloat either, even if you’re downing them all night long (which you’ll probably want to).

Poured over ice and lime or sipped straight from the can, it’s a drink that can be enjoyed by anyone but ultimately stands alone. Gin and beer drinkers pave their own path.
To celebrate the historical release, Change Up Beer Co is hosting a massive Sunday Sesh at Republica on the St Kilda foreshore. On the afternoon of October 22, they’ll be dishing out free G&Bs all day long as well as giving away a free esky filled with a case of G&Bs to one lucky winner.
The afternoon will feature entertainment from the Sol Tribe Band who will be blasting their chilled-out soul, reggae and RnB beats across the beer garden.
Change Up Beer Co’s Gin and Beer can be found at Liquorland and First Choice Liquor Market. For more information, head here.
