Giddy up!: don’t miss the first-ever Boardwalk Country Music Festival

Boardwalk Country Music Festival
words by kaya martin

We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to festivals, but we’re never going to say no to adding another one to our busy calendar.

There’s a new event coming to town and it’s a doozy. The Boardwalk Country Music Festival is a mammoth undertaking, rolling from city to city throughout our fair country this April and bringing in some of the best of local and international twang.

With ambitions of becoming an annual event, the festival is coming out of the gate hot with a stacked lineup and dates planned at some of the most beloved outdoor amphitheaters across the East coast.

The inaugural roster will feature Grammy-nominated American imports Jimmie Allen and Gavin DeGraw, as well as local legends including Lee Kernaghan, Kasey Chambers, Busby Marou, Shannon Noll, The Wolfe Brothers, Casey Barnes, The Buckleys & Darlinghurst.

Nashville’s sweetheart Jimmie Allen sprung onto the country music radar in 2018 with his infectious single One Shot. From hustling with music while living out of his car to performing duets with Noah Cyrus and Brad Paisley, snatching up CMA and ACM awards, and becoming a guest mentor on American Idol, Allen’s career has been nothing less than explosive.

Gavin DeGraw has been dishing out solid grooves since he was a teenager. After studying at (and dropping out of) the prestigious Berklee College of Music, he moved to New York and released his platinum-certified debut album, Chariot. In April, he’ll be highlighting tracks off Face the River, his seventh studio album and latest release.

The festival grounds will also have food trucks and pop-up boutique bars, making it an easy place to waste the day away. If you’re a country fan at all, we suggest you toss on that classic flannel-and-blue-jeans combo and come see what all of the fuss is about first-hand.

Tickets for Melbourne’s Boardwalk Country Music Festival will be taking place on April 26. To find out more and grab your tickets, head here.
