What’s the first show you ever had/booked at the venue? My buddy Holly and I originally started booking there in July of 2016. Our very first gig was Shepparton Airplane, Kit Convict & TTT and Fuzzsucker.
Why do you think the music scene in Melbourne is so special? We are so spoilt for choice (which rules) and every night of the week you’ll be able to find a gig around the town.
If you could book any three bands to play a show, who would they be and why? I’ve been very lucky in having many of my favourite local bands play already and booked in for future gigs at Woody’s. As for ultimate dream gig…. how does one answer that?
What has been the ultimate highlight in terms of a show you’ve held there? There have been many, yet one that comes to mind is Japanese band Hikashu. They played a last minute gig in February with the ever-awesome Waterfall Person. It was a night to remember that’s for sure. Oh and not to mention the weekly live band karaoke we’ve just started.
What’s happening there for you as part of this year’s Leaps & Bounds? We have two gigs on for Leaps & Bounds, Saturday July 15 has Zockapilli with Scraggers. Saturday July 22 has The Second Sex and The Fcks Ups.
