Prepare to enter a world of colour and light when luminous installations takeover shop fronts, laneways, galleries and footpaths with immersive artwork.

The free, community-focussed event of Gertrude Street Projection Festival is set for a stellar year, bringing together over 30 works ranging from large-scale illuminated outdoor projections to intimate video artworks when tens of thousands flock to the area to discover their favourites.

This year’s festival welcomes back key sites including the Festival Hub at the Catfish, with four Australian artists leading the program including Yandell Walton, Ray Thomas, Susan Forrester and Jody Haines. They’ll join an illustrious list of festival alumni including Ian de Gruchy, Nick Azidis, Lauren Dunn, Jacob Tolo, Luzena Adams, Rose Staff, Amanda Morgan and Skunk Control.

“Each year we are amazed by the enthusiasm and willingness of our artists and supporters to turn the street into a living artwork, encouraging audiences to explore and celebrate the diversity of the neighbourhood,” said Festival Director Nicky Pastore.
