Fun Lovin’ Criminals hit Australia with their first album in 15 years

Words by staff writer

Fun Lovin' Criminals haven't released an album in 15 years, and they're celebrating with an Aussie tour.

The New York trio will play three east coast dates behind A Matter of Time, their seventh studio album and first full-length release since 2010’s Classic Fantastic. Fun Lovin’ Criminals dropped the record in August 2025, with founding member and multi-instrumentalist Brian ‘Fast’ Leiser and drummer Frank Benbini steering the ship as both writers and producers. Mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Tim Latham, the album sees the band lean back into the kind of rock and hip-hop fusion that put them on the map in the mid-90s.

The Australian run follows a huge 29-date international tour in 2025 that saw the band road-testing new material across the globe. With three decades of touring under their belt, six studio albums, two covers records and a stack of sought-after remixes, Fun Lovin’ Criminals have built a serious reputation as one of the most energetic live acts going around. Alongside fresh cuts from A Matter of Time, audiences can expect to hear their biggest hit Scooby Snacks — which famously sampled dialogue from Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs and has shifted millions of copies worldwide — plus beloved tracks like King of New York, Love Unlimited, Korean Bodega and Big Night Out.

Over 30 years, the band have carved out a devoted cult following that stretches well beyond their New York origins. Their ability to weave together elements of rock, hip-hop, blues and jazz into something distinctly their own has kept fans locked in, and A Matter of Time proves the trio haven’t lost a step. Three intimate East Coast venues and a setlist spanning three decades of material should give Australian fans plenty to get excited about.
