During the last Victorian lockdown, Daylesford Cider were hard at work behind the scenes completing one of their best vintages yet and giving the cellar door a makeover.
Since reopening in June, they’ve welcomed guests back into their cosy English tavern-style space to share their new range. Craft cider is what they do best, whether it’s small experimental batches, single varietal ciders, oak barrel-aged ciders, tannin-driven varieties, almost bone-dry cider or full-fruited, bold styles.
Their ‘Cider Tasting Paddle’ of seven different ciders for $15 is the go-to, for new and regular customers, who want to get to know their core range. If you’re outside the lockdown zone, Daylesford Cider have three different reservation times available every Friday, Saturday & Sunday so you can stop in and get tasting.
Due to capacity limits, bookings must be made well in advance by emailing through each guest’s full name and contact number in order to get the ball rolling. For those wanting to purchase cider to take home, the cellar door will also be open for sales.
If you are in lockdown, that doesn’t mean you can’t get your cider fix. There’s also a huge selection of Daylesford Cider favourites available on their website that are certain to take the edge off being stuck at home. If you’re after something a little outside the box, try their refreshing Watermelon Fizz. And for the perfect winter warmer, you can’t go past the spiced cider made with local honey and a blend of spices sure to warm the belly and soul.
