Get ready to groove this October!

The electrifying sounds of jazz return with the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Soundworks Productions is back with Jason Robert Brown’s musical Songs for a New World. And get set for Christie Whelan Browne’s welcome return in the iconic Britney Spears: The Cabaret.

All at Chapel off Chapel this October.

Songs For A New World

Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown’s moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love and the choices that we make. With a rousing score that blends elements of pop, gospel and jazz, it features tight harmonies and soaring vocals. Sixteen songs are drawn together by a theme: a moment of decision, the point at which you transition from the old to the new.

Roaring

The talented members of Burwood Student Theatre Company present Roaring. Set in the 1960s, Vera is desperately seeking fame when her life changes upon meeting casino owner Johnny. Two differing worlds meet and an unlikely romance blossoms. The play begins with the ending scene, rewinding and backtracks their stories.

Take The Mic

The Grand Final has arrived. Take the Mic’s singing competition returns. Celebrating 10 years, the competition features emerging Melbourne singers of all styles performing pop hits to musical theatre.
With special appearances from industry judges. Who will win on the day?

Home Grown

Home Grown continues to celebrate and discover Australia’s most exciting musical theatre with their concert showcase series. Come and enjoy this one night only special event featuring songs from the freshest writers performed by a line up of the hottest seasoned and up-and-coming performers. Home Grown is the only event of its kind where you get a behind the scenes insight into the best Australian-made musical theatre.

Melbourne International Jazz Festival

Our very own world class jazz festival returns. Showcasing and celebrating jazz culture, the program features six outstanding performances that feature the biggest and best artists bringing the spirit of jazz to our very own backyard. Including Kekko Fornarelli, Mindy Meng Wang & Paul Grabowsky, Lah-Lah’s Jazzy Playground, Kendrick Scott, Kristin Berardi and an inspired double bill with Hamed Sadeghi and Tom Avgenicos.

Britney Spears: The Cabaret

Not so much a cabaret as a cry for help – star of Australian stage and screen, Christie Whelan Browne, reprises her critically acclaimed performance in this hilariously funny and strangely touching satirical look at the perils of fame.

Bella Taylor Smith

The vocal powerhouse, Bella Taylor Smith, performs in an intimate, acoustic mode for an evening of sublime music. The ARIA-Award nominee’s extraordinary voice has become one of the most identifiable new sounds on Australian airwaves since being crowned the winner of The Voice, Australia 2021. Bella performs songs from her album, Look Me In The Eyes, as well as classics and never-before-heard music from her forthcoming album.
