She'll be launching her latest 7", Spend Your Christmas With Rita, on Christmas Eve at the Northcote Social Club.
Freya Josephine Hollick is heading down to the Northcote Social Club for a special show on Christmas Eve, in celebration of her latest track Spend Your Christmas With Rita, which is backed by a gorgeous rendering of the classic Blue Christmas.
She’ll be joined on the evening by Music Victoria Award Winner Kerryn Fields, Alex Hamilton’s wild harmonica combo Headspin and DJ Ernie from 3PBS Swinging Doors spinning golden vinyl before, between and after.

Her attractions to country music were more to do with its history in storytelling than any particular sound, inspired by its strength of song and poetry as well as artists like Townes Van Zant and Alan Toussaint. This is particularly evident in Holdin’ on the Ones You Love, a song that sees her vocals joined by Alan Power and utilising country faves like nylon string guitars and “honky tonk” piano to set the scene.

Spend Your Christmas With Rita will be released on limited edition colour vinyl through Cheersquad Records and Tapes with a very special B-Side of Blue Christmas to break your yule tide heart.
