One of the highlights of the event is the beloved Australia’s Richest Barista competition – a knock-out style tournament where baristas from all over the country go head to head to see who’s got the chops. They complete will compete in three rounds focused on speed, latte art and tasting abilities and the winner will take home a $40,000 prize.

Visitors will have a chance to learn about the latest and greatest in the coffee industry from bean to cup. There will be a roasters zone where you can sample new beans, an origin section where you can learn about the growing process and meet the farmers and the Product Innovation Awards which will showcase the coolest new coffee technology.

True coffee fanatics will even have the chance to make their passion permanent with an on-site tattoo booth presented by Brewtech. Artist Courtney Leong has drawn up a sheet of coffee-themed flash and visitors can stop by to get inked up for free all throughout the weekend.

The Melbourne International Coffee Expo will run from August 17 to 20. Grab your tickets here.
