Live Music beyond the festivals

AKA the heartbeat of Frankston’s nights. Frankston’s pulsating nightlife is not just about the festivals; it’s about the intimate encounters with live music at its iconic venues all summer long.

Here are some of the best spots to check out over the summer.

Pelly Bar

The iconic Pelly Bar is widely known as the hottest live music room this side of Melbourne.

Located inside the Pier Hotel, one of Frankston’s most frequented pubs, this is the Pier’s intimate entertainment room. With plenty of drinks on offer on any given weekend, you will find anything from a grunge rock band to a techno-loving DJ up on stage, putting on a show. Intimate, unpretentious and raw, Pelly Bar is the perfect little spot to cut a shape after having a few in the hotel’s Front Bar. Acts slated to hit the stage over the summer include the likes of The Chats, Coterie, Sons of the East, Old Mervs, and ARIA Award-winning singer, songwriter and raconteur Phil Jamieson.

Pier Bandroom

The Pier Bandroom, nestled within the Pier Hotel, has emerged as a vibrant live music hub. Spearheaded by the team behind The Croxton’s revival, this dynamic venue breathes life back into the South Side’s live music scene. Formerly the iconic 21st Century Nightclub, renowned for its revolving dance floor and hosting 70s and 80s legends, the Pier Bandroom is the go-to spot for an epic night out. This summer the bandroom will be hosting big names, including Illy, The Amity Affliction, Cosmic Psychos, Crooked Colours, Beddy Rays, The Terrys, and The Dreggs.

This is a full-on live music venue where you will catch some spectacular acts, so keep an eye on the venue guide.
