The latest list includes Sydney’s Boy & Bear, Kid Mac and Dune Rats, Perth’s The Growl, Brisbane’s DZ Deathrays, Jungle Giants and The Creases, the Adelaide/LA project Touch Sensitive and Flume’s side project What So Not.
The 15 join the previously-announced Melbourne’s Vance Joy, Money for Rope and People of Letters as well as Perth’s The Chevelles, Sydney-born London-based Josef Salvat and Adelaide’s The Swiss.
Of the 240+ Aussie acts who applied, 40 were invited, about half of which have accepted so far. Sources tell us that 20 more Australian acts are to be invited, with some major names in the mix. Many will have to drop out, if their hoped-for funding grants don’t come through, or if their touring and recording schedules suddenly change.
It is expected that ultimately, about 40 acts from Australia will play.
