After her DJ slot at last year's Melbourne Cup Carnival, Sporty Spice is returning for one big night in St Kilda.
It’s hard to think of a music career as storied as Melanie C’s. From her ascension to stardom as a member of Britain’s iconic girl group The Spice Girls to her break away into a varied solo career, she’s only grown stronger throughout the years.
Now, she’ll be taking on one of Melbourne’s favourite party spots – the Espy’s Gershwin Room – for one night of wonder. This time, instead of being on the mic, Mel C will be behind the decks, spinning tracks that have the crowd in a dancing frenzy all night long. On April 27, she’s set to transform the Espy into a massive party playhouse.

Following the break up of the Spice Girls in 2000, Mel C branched out on her own. Throughout her solo career, she’s never left the spotlight. With a whopping 11 UK number ones in her pocket, Mel C is the only woman in the world to top the UK charts as a quintet, quartet, duo and solo artist.
In recent years, she’s been gaining a reputation on the international party circuit as an impressive DJ, playing everywhere from Ibiza to Glastonbury. When she hit Australian shores last year, it was the first time she performed here in more than two decades.
Her most recent single, last year’s I Like U ft. Swedish sensation Tove Lo, has already amassed more than 14 million streams on Spotify. It fuses the dance-pop prowess Mel C has always been known for with a modern EDM edge. Fans can expect to hear her signature high-energy beats and party pop madness at her Espy appearance this Saturday.
