The heavy metal legend will play Melbourne's Bendigo Hotel on May 12.

Tim “Ripper” Owens will touch down in Australia next month for two intense shows set to rock audiences like never before.

The legendary heavy metal singer, formerly of Judas Priest, Iced Earth and Yngwie Malmsteen, is bringing his exclusive solo show to Sydney and Melbourne before he jets off to Europe in the next few months.

Touring on the back of his most recent solo EP Return to Death Row, Ripper is planning to bring his latest hits to the two shows as well as tracks from udas Priest, Dio and Black Sabbath. The artist has an impressive discography, with three solo albums and over ten other projects under his belt.

Ripper’s long and winding career was the inspiration for the 2001 film Rock Star starring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston. He was once a Judas Priest superfan before working his way up to being the band’s lead singer after the band split ways with Rob Halford.

The Grammy-nominated artist will be bringing a top-notch backing band to his Aussie shows, composed of members from Frankie’s World Famous House Band, Harlott, and Bad Moon Born.

Presented by the hardcore behemoth Utopia Records, the two shows will give fans a chance to see the metal legend up close and personal in two intimate venues. In Sydney, he’ll be supported by Bastardizer, Plastic Bath, Dreamteam DJs, and BARB and in Melbourne he will be joined by MANIAXE, Flitcraft, and DJ Ash Lightning.

Tickets to the Australian shows are expected to sell fest.
