English folk singer-songwriter Blanco White returns to Australian shores for a four-date tour in March 2026.
Following his successful debut Australian tour in 2024, Josh Edwards – the creative force behind Blanco White – has announced his highly anticipated return. The March 2026 tour promises to showcase the artist’s distinctive blend of folk, indie and electronic elements that have captivated audiences across his growing international fanbase.
Blanco White’s musical journey began with a childhood trip to Latin America at age 10, sparking a lifelong fascination with Spanish-speaking cultures. This early exposure led Edwards to study Spanish at university before immersing himself in the musical traditions of Andalusia and the Andes. His time in Cádiz studying flamenco guitar under Nono Garcia, followed by learning the charango in Sucre, became foundational to his otherworldly sound.

Edwards’ artistic evolution has been marked by continuous experimentation and cultural exchange. His second solo album Tarifa represents a bold fusion of traditional folk with contemporary indie and electronic production. The project’s reverence for language and the surreal has remained constant since his first releases in 2016, even as his sound has grown more sophisticated and collaborative.
Health challenges beginning in 2020 forced Edwards to step back from performing and writing, but this period became unexpectedly productive. Unable to play, he dedicated himself to consuming audio podcasts, stories and books while diving deeper into production and engineering techniques. This knowledge has proven instrumental in evolving Blanco White’s sonic palette.
