Guitarist Hamish Dobinson describes the new record Mostly Sunny as signalling ‘a new era in Flowertruck. Our EP was our adolescence not only as a band but also as musicians. The LP is a marker of our development together as a band and in our musicianship from so much bloody touring.’
With a greater sense of intimacy within the band and the evolution of their musical capacity, Flowertruck are set to take Australia on a journey of nostalgia with summer-soaked visuals paired with swirling synth and melancholic lyrics. They represent the unease of growing up, falling in love and change – universal themes which are sure to speak to their audiences outside of Sydney as well as those who have been there from the beginning.
The Sydney-based band have a six-date national tour planned in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, including some coastal shows to celebrate the release of their album.
Mostly Sunny will be released by Spunk Records on March 16th with their largest tour to date commencing in April.
