Under the Radar returns to Fitzroy for a second round of the listening party where Melbourne's indie musos submit their tracks and play them to each other

Under the Radar is a listening party and social mixer rolled into one, built specifically for Melbourne’s independent music community. It is not a gig in the traditional sense. Think more of a relaxed space for artists, musicians, producers, songwriters and industry creatives to get in a room together, share new tracks, swap stories and see what sparks.
Last year’s debut got a strong reception, and the event is back bigger this time around, with new collaborators Donkey Man Records and TAGG (The Alternative Gig Guide) joining the fold.

This dynamic networking event brings the local scene together for authentic connections, fresh inspiration, and potential breakthroughs at a buzzing Fitzroy spot, Polly Bar.
The format is pretty straightforward. Submit your track ahead of time via email and it goes into the evening’s custom playlist, which means the music on the night comes entirely from the people in the room.
Alongside the listening sessions, expect genuine conversation with other artists and writers, resident photographer Brig Bee capturing the vibe, and plenty of room to make the kind of connections that actually stick. Whether you’re a bedroom producer just finding your feet or a seasoned local act looking to expand your circle, the whole point is that everyone’s welcome.
This event aims to counter isolation of independent music with open, easygoing dialogue.
