Free Music Gig’s in Fed Square Every Second Thursday From October 7

Prepare for an epic summer of live music with Fed Square Live starting October 7.

Beginning October 7, the inner city location will play host to some of the best and brightest indie, blues and roots, world music, dance and rock performances from around the country.

The programme kicks off during the Melbourne Music Festival and will feature free, all ages gigs every second Thursday until April 21 next year.

The first bill includes Sydney’s resident ‘Skate Rat’ Jonathen Boulet, purveyor of electronic indie pop, and Melbourne’s own Skipping Girl Vinegar, who will be bringing their own brand of delightful indie tunes to the stage.

Fed Square Live has been developed in conjunction with The Push, a not for profit youth music organisation that runs a heap of music events and industry training throughout Victoria.

Peter Chellew, General Manager of The Push, is excited at the prospect of this programme. “Not only will this series showcase some of our finest Australian talent across a range of styles, you’ll also have the chance to discover some of the freshest emerging acts that this country is presently offering! With the warmer months nearly upon us, I can’t think of a better way to spend a balmy Thursday evening in Melbourne!”

And we couldn’t agree more.

Summer? Music? Free? That’s what we like to hear!
