Founding Motörhead member “Fast” Eddie Clarke has died aged 67, losing his battle with pneumonia overnight.
“We are devastated to pass on the news we only just heard ourselves earlier tonight,” reads a statement issued by Motorhead’s official Facebook.
“Edward Allan Clarke – or as we all know and love him Fast Eddie Clarke – passed away peacefully yesterday.
“Keep roaring, rockin’ and rollin’ up there as goddamit man, your Motörfamily would expect nothing less.”
Clarke will be remembered as a defining member of Motörhead’s ‘classic’ lineup, recording era-defining riffs and solos on classics including Overkill, Ace of Spades, Bomber, and live album No Sleep ‘Til Hammersmith.
