Prizes include $2000 cash thanks to APRA, an ad in Beat, studio time at Head Gap Studios, mastering at Indie Masters, duplication services courtesy Implant Media, a $200 Guitar World voucher and tickets to the Face the Music conference.
Finalists will be announced the week of Monday September 7.
The judging panel of Jen Cloher, Peter Farnan and Tristan Goodall of The Audreys will select ten finalists to perform at the free Songwriters’ Award Grand Final concert on Sunday September 29 at 3pm at the Northcote Town Hall. This will be hosted by writer, musician and broadcaster Ben Birchall and features guest appearances from the awards’ 2012 winner Richard Jeffery and 2007 winner Sal Kimber.
Other previous winners include Jordie Lane, Ben Mason, E’Wah Lady and Falloe. The awards normally get about 100 entries per year.
