Electronic music pioneers Sultan + Shepard are coming to Melbourne in March

Words by Staff Writer

Sultan + Shepard are bringing their melodic house and progressive sound to Australia this March, with Untitled Group presenting two exclusive shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

The Montreal-based duo, comprising Ossama Al Sarraf and Ned Shepard, have established themselves as influential figures in electronic music since their chance meeting at a Montreal club in 2002. Their career spans collaborations with EDM heavyweights Dillon Francis and Tiësto, alongside remixes for mainstream artists including Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, and Madonna.

Their work has earned them significant recognition, including a Grammy nomination for their remix of Bruno Mars’ Locked Out Of Heaven and two Juno Award nominations for Best Dance Recording. A pivotal moment came in 2021 when they joined Lane 8’s This Never Happened label, marking a creative shift toward emotionally-driven storytelling.

The Australian tour follows the release of Circle In Time, the culmination of a trilogy including the albums Something, Everything, Forever, Now, and Endless, Dawn. This body of work represents the duo’s evolution toward a more introspective sound while maintaining their signature progressive house elements.

Sultan + Shepard have built their reputation through performances at major international festivals including Tomorrowland, Ultra, and EDC. Their live shows are known for combining technical precision with emotional depth, establishing them as leading figures in the progressive and melodic house scene.

The upcoming Australian performances mark a significant return for the duo, who continue to push boundaries in electronic music production and live performance. Their shows are expected to showcase both their established catalogue and recent creative developments.

Ticket sales begin with a presale on January 23 at 12pm AEDT, followed by general release on January 24 at 12pm AEDT. Full details and presale registration are available here.
