Elana Stone has revealed her next solo single ‘Bulletproof’, is one very close to her heart.
Written about her dad after he suffered a stroke last year, Elana said, “My dad has always seemed bulletproof, but this medical emergency was evidence of his mortality. Luckily, dad had a miraculous recovery. The neurosurgeon said he should buy a lottery ticket. I’m not sure if stubbornness is a superpower but perhaps in this case, it was.
“I performed this song all over Europe on my solo tour with John Butler in 2022 and it was incredibly healing to perform it every night for attentive, beautiful audiences. It helped me process what had happened with my dad.”
Fans in Victoria will get a chance to hear ‘Bulletproof’ live when Elana plays single launch shows at the Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine (March 2) and Shotkickers in Melbourne (March 3).
‘Bulletproof’ is lifted from Elana’s forthcoming solo album and follows last year’s release of the love song ‘Oregon’.
