The Little Bookroom celebrates 65 years with a grand reopening in East Brunswick Village featuring Sally Rippin, Shaun Tan and Melbourne's biggest children's authors.

The Little Bookroom is officially opening its doors in its new East Brunswick Village location on Saturday 25 October, marking both a fresh start and a 65th birthday celebration for the world’s oldest children’s bookstore.

Founded in 1960, The Little Bookroom has shaped generations of young readers and supported countless Australian authors and illustrators since opening its first location in the Metropole Arcade in Melbourne’s CBD. The store moved to the East Brunswick location earlier this month.

Now under new ownership by former store manager Michael Earp, The Little Bookroom begins a new chapter as a contemporary cultural space designed for browsing, gathering and creativity. Beyond its shelves, the shop will host author events, illustration workshops and school programs, continuing its legacy as a place of wonder, learning and imagination.
