Drunk Mums Join 123 Agency

The band’s manager James Young of Cherry Rock commented, “123’s digital marketing arm was a major plus that got me and Drunk Mums keen. That and the fact that Damo can seriously ‘get on it’ and still answer your calls from his work desk the following morning!”

He added, “It’s all about like-minded people. Drunk Mums are young, creative, a little crazy and even though they don’t know where they’re going you just know it’s going to be a helluva fun ride. The exact same can be said of Damo and the awesome team he has working with him at 123 Agency.”

Jake Doyle (guitar/vox), Dean Whitby (guitar/vox), Adam Ritchie (bass/vox), Johnny Badlove (drums) and Isaac Forsyth (tambourine) formed Drunk Mums in Cairns, Queensland.

They soon brought their “70s-influenced Aussie pub rock with-a-twist” and songs from three songwriters to their new home in Melbourne.  After releasing a debut 5-track EP Eventual Ghost in 2011, their self-titled debut LP from last September had its cover – featuring a bare-chested girl (courtesy a stripper called Peaches, according to the band) – banned from iTunes and Facebook. It’s on http://drunkmums.bandcamp.com/ and iTunes. They are currently working on their second album.

Costin announced the Drunk Mums deal at last week’s Big Sound conference and showcase in Brisbane, where he officially launched 123. He said, “We’ve been fans for some time now and we think they are a band that will turn some heads with a new record in the wings and some announcements on the way. We are in for a great ride and we’ll be making waves shortly.”
