E-sports

As competitive gaming and e-sports become more and more popular, it has become a proper spectator sport. At Dreamhack Melbourne, you can catch live Counter-Strike and League of Legends matches with prize pools up to $100,000 USD. Punters can watch the matches and cheer on their favourite teams from the same seats that Aus Open fans catch their favourite tennis stars.

If fighting games are more your speed, try Dreamhack Fighters. With a $5,000 prizepool, players can join in matches of Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros, Tekken and more all weekend long. In partnership with Couch Warriors League, players can compete to a professional level and experience cutting-edge skill and timing.

Creator Hub

At Dreamhack’s Creator Hub, gamers can meet their favourite creators, streamers and YouTubers, with a list too big and impressive to do proper justice. Creators are offered the opportunity to interact with their fans and share their content with the world on a more personal level.

Cosplay

You can also step into another world with Dreamhack’s amazing cosplay activities. If you’re looking to learn more about cosplay, this is the opportunity for you. Featuring cosplayers from all fandoms and a $16,000 cosplay competition, fans can get involved no matter the experience. All are welcome, and there is even a Cosplay Save Point available for patrons to repair their outfits, should a wardrobe malfunction of any kind occur. With CosHack 101: Level Up Panel, you can also learn more about the world of cosplay from artists and performers. Learn more about cosplay at Dreamhack here.

Music and more

Several local artists will be performing at this year’s Dreamhack including Godlands, Mashd N Kutcher and Luke Million. The iconic Rod Laver Arena will be transformed into a dance floor, with the most talented and creative local artists tearing up the soundwaves for your enjoyment.

Those keen to learn will be treated to panels from industry speakers, and students interested in a career in gaming can enjoy the Students Day on Friday April 28 to jump into the world of professional gaming.

On top of all these activities, there will also be arcades, tabletop arenas, and so much fantastic merchandise available on the day.
